AI to Word Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 10, 2026

AI to Word is a Chrome extension that converts user-selected ChatGPT responses and conversations into Microsoft Word documents. This policy explains how the extension handles data.

Data Collection

AI to Word does not collect personally identifiable information, authentication information, financial information, location, browsing history, analytics, or advertising identifiers. Conversation content is read locally only when needed to provide the export requested by the user.

Data Usage

Selected conversation text, formatting, formulas, links, and images are used only to create the requested document. The extension does not use this content for advertising, profiling, analytics, or AI model training.

Data Sharing

Conversation content and generated documents are not shared with or transmitted to the developer. The extension does not sell user data. Supported remote images may be requested directly from their original image host solely so they can be embedded in the document.

Local Processing

Document generation takes place in the browser. No account is required. The extension does not upload prompts, responses, or generated documents to a developer-operated server.

Permissions

Data Retention

The extension does not retain conversation content or generated documents in Chrome storage, localStorage, IndexedDB, or a remote database. Temporary in-memory data is released when the page or extension context closes.

Third-party Services

AI to Word operates on ChatGPT pages and may retrieve an image from the original image host. It does not use analytics, advertising, telemetry, or remote proxy services. This extension is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI.

Changes

This policy may be updated when extension behavior or legal requirements change. The updated date at the top of this page will identify the current version.
